I spent all my money in Macau!

So, my exams finished early! Me and my friend booked a holiday to Taiwan and Macau!

It was great fun being completely carefree again. We used a site called couchsurfer to find ourselves a place to stay in Taipei, it was really awesome because we stayed in a bookstore. I hugely reccommend this site, it's great for travelling on a budget and you'll meet some amazing people, whether your a host or a couch surfer!

In Taipei we had four days and visited a load of famous sites, I never knew what I would expect in Taiwan but it was more tropical and more rainforests than I imagined.

After all the hiking we decided to treat ourselves!

Macau was probably closer to what I'd expected, lots of bright lights and Casinos.

But it also had the contrast of old and new...

And what was strangest, was the language! Up until recently, Macau was a Portuguese colony so the two official languages are Portuguese and Cantonese. So they mixed the two together along with English, really strange to hear!

And of course I treated myself to a Portuguese tart - sooo tasty!
