Wild Berries

Bit of a different blog today, I thought I'd share with you one of my favourite types of breakfast: fruity breakfast smoothies!

I love making smoothies, they're fresh, healthy and a great way to slowly release energy. It's an easy and great way to start the day.

Smoothies are full of fresh fruit, yogurt and sometimes superfoods or greens can be added along with nuts or oats. It's a really easy way to pack in loads of vitamins and minerals to one meal. And what's more, is there's always fruit in the shops!

The other day I went food shopping and we got a mixed berry tray which inspired me to do a wild berries smoothie. They're really good go-to breakfasts that will fill you up for longer and keep you going until lunch.

Wild Berries Breakfast Smoothie

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS:

3 big strawberries (or 4-5 small)

A small handful of raspberries (about 6)

1/2 cup of blueberries

1 ripe banana

150ml plain yogurt (I used homemade) A small handful of granola (I used a premixed one with pistachio nuts)

1 tsp of vanilla sugar

1-2tsp of Chia seeds 1tsp Pomegranate seeds

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut the strawberries and banana then add the yogurt and all the fruits into a blender and process until creamy

  2. Add the granola and sugar and pulse two or three more times

  3. Distribute the smoothie into bowls and sprinkle with chia and pomegranate seeds

  4. Serve

I kept one portion in the fridge overnight and had the next day. The top colour went slightly brown because of the banana but after stirring it through it was fine.
